Sant Joan d'Alacant is a municipality in Spain, in the province of Alicante, in the Valencian Community. On 1 January 2025 it had 26,834 inhabitants according to the INE municipal register (padrón), over an area of about 10.1 km².
With about 2,657 inhabitants per km², it is one of the most densely populated areas in the country, part of a large metropolitan area. Of the 61 municipalities in the province of Alicante with at least 5,000 inhabitants, it is number 19 by population.
As the crow flies it lies about 10 km east of Alicante, the provincial capital. The nearest major city is Valencia, about 120 km away.
