Agost is a municipality in Spain, in the province of Alicante, in the Valencian Community. On 1 January 2025 it had 5,225 inhabitants according to the INE municipal register (padrón), over an area of about 69.6 km².
Population density is about 75 per km²: a partly rural municipality, with a main town and scattered villages or developments. Of the 61 municipalities in the province of Alicante with at least 5,000 inhabitants, it is number 61 by population.
As the crow flies it lies about 11 km north-west of Alicante, the provincial capital. The nearest major city is Valencia, about 115 km away.
