Mutxamel is a municipality in Spain, in the province of Alicante, in the Valencian Community. On 1 January 2025 it had 28,621 inhabitants according to the INE municipal register (padrón), over an area of about 48.3 km².
Density, at about 593 inhabitants per km², is that of a populous urban area, with residential districts, services and businesses. Of the 61 municipalities in the province of Alicante with at least 5,000 inhabitants, it is number 17 by population.
As the crow flies it lies about 8 km north-east of Alicante, the provincial capital. The nearest major city is Valencia, about 115 km away.
