The municipality of Usurbil lies in the province of Gipuzkoa, in the Basque Country: according to official INE figures for 1 January 2025 it is home to 6,488 people, over about 23.8 km².
With about 273 inhabitants per km², it combines a medium-sized town with residential districts, farmland and business areas. Of the 34 municipalities in the province of Gipuzkoa with at least 5,000 inhabitants, it is number 27 by population.
As the crow flies it lies about 7 km west of San Sebastián, the provincial capital. The nearest major city is Bilbao, about 70 km away.
