Pasaia is a municipality in Spain, in the province of Gipuzkoa, in the Basque Country. On 1 January 2025 it had 15,820 inhabitants according to the INE municipal register (padrón), over an area of about 12.2 km².
Density, at about 1,297 inhabitants per km², is that of a populous urban area, with residential districts, services and businesses. Of the 34 municipalities in the province of Gipuzkoa with at least 5,000 inhabitants, it is number 11 by population.
As the crow flies it lies about 9 km north-east of San Sebastián, the provincial capital. The nearest major city is Bilbao, about 85 km away.
