Muro, on the island of Mallorca, is part of the province of Balearic Islands. The municipality covers about 58.0 km² and had 8,398 inhabitants on 1 January 2025.
With about 145 inhabitants per km², it combines a medium-sized town with residential districts, farmland and business areas. Of the 42 municipalities in the province of Balearic Islands with at least 5,000 inhabitants, it is number 29 by population.
As the crow flies it lies about 39 km north-east of Palma de Mallorca, the provincial capital.
