Ermua is a municipality in Spain, in the province of Biscay, in the Basque Country. On 1 January 2025 it had 15,516 inhabitants according to the INE municipal register (padrón), over an area of about 4.9 km².
With about 3,167 inhabitants per km², it is one of the most densely populated areas in the country, part of a large metropolitan area. Of the 35 municipalities in the province of Biscay with at least 5,000 inhabitants, it is number 16 by population.
As the crow flies it lies about 36 km east of Bilbao, the provincial capital. The nearest major city is Bilbao, about 35 km away.
