Villabona, in the Basque Country, is part of the province of Gipuzkoa. The municipality covers about 18.7 km² and had 5,900 inhabitants on 1 January 2025.
Density, at about 316 inhabitants per km², is that of a populous urban area, with residential districts, services and businesses. Of the 34 municipalities in the province of Gipuzkoa with at least 5,000 inhabitants, it is number 32 by population.
As the crow flies it lies about 13 km south of San Sebastián, the provincial capital. The nearest major city is Bilbao, about 75 km away.
