The municipality of Mairena del Aljarafe lies in the province of Seville, in Andalusia: according to official INE figures for 1 January 2025 it is home to 48,017 people, over about 17.1 km².
With about 2,808 inhabitants per km², it is one of the most densely populated areas in the country, part of a large metropolitan area. Of the 64 municipalities in the province of Seville with at least 5,000 inhabitants, it is number 5 by population.
