Es Mercadal is a municipality in Spain, in the province of Balearic Islands, on the island of Menorca. On 1 January 2025 it had 6,459 inhabitants according to the INE municipal register (padrón), over an area of about 135.9 km².
Population density is about 48 per km²: a partly rural municipality, with a main town and scattered villages or developments. Of the 42 municipalities in the province of Balearic Islands with at least 5,000 inhabitants, it is number 36 by population.
As the crow flies it lies about 130 km north-east of Palma de Mallorca, the provincial capital.
