Zaragoza Airport (IATA code ZAZ) lies about 10 km west of central Zaragoza and shares its runways with a military air base. Run by Aena, it is a relatively small passenger airport, but it has become one of Spain's main air freight airports, thanks to its strategic location and the city's big logistics hubs, such as the PLAZA platform and Inditex's clothing distribution centres.
Flights and airlines
Passenger flights are operated mainly by Ryanair, Vueling, Volotea and Binter, with links to some European cities, such as London, Brussels, Paris, Milan and Bucharest, and to the Canary and Balearic Islands, some only seasonal. Routes change often: always check current schedules on the Aena and airline websites. It can be more convenient to fly to Madrid or Barcelona and take the high-speed train, which reaches Delicias station in about an hour and a half from Madrid and under two hours from Barcelona (see the Madrid-Barcelona train).
Getting to the centre
- Bus: a line links the airport with the city centre and Delicias station, with regular daytime services.
- Taxi: about 20 minutes to the centre.
- Car: the airport is near the A-2 Madrid-Barcelona motorway; car hire desks and a car park are at the terminal.
Services
The terminal is small and easy to use, with a café, shop, car hire desks, free Wi-Fi and services for passengers with reduced mobility. See also getting to and around Spain and the Aragon region.
