Xàtiva is a municipality in Spain, in the province of Valencia, in the Valencian Community. On 1 January 2025 it had 31,008 inhabitants according to the INE municipal register (padrón), over an area of about 78.3 km².
Density, at about 396 inhabitants per km², is that of a populous urban area, with residential districts, services and businesses. Of the 80 municipalities in the province of Valencia with at least 5,000 inhabitants, it is number 13 by population.
As the crow flies it lies about 48 km south of Valencia, the provincial capital. The nearest major city is Valencia, about 55 km away.
