Vic is a municipality in Spain, in the province of Barcelona, in Catalonia. On 1 January 2025 it had 50,796 inhabitants according to the INE municipal register (padrón), over an area of about 31.9 km².
With about 1,592 inhabitants per km², it is one of the most densely populated areas in the country, part of a large metropolitan area. Of the 134 municipalities in the province of Barcelona with at least 5,000 inhabitants, it is number 20 by population.
As the crow flies it lies about 59 km north of Barcelona, the provincial capital. The nearest major city is Barcelona, about 60 km away.
