San Javier is a municipality in Spain, in the province of Murcia, in the Region of Murcia. On 1 January 2025 it had 36,524 inhabitants according to the INE municipal register (padrón), over an area of about 77.3 km².
Density, at about 472 inhabitants per km², is that of a populous urban area, with residential districts, services and businesses. Of the 37 municipalities in the province of Murcia with at least 5,000 inhabitants, it is number 8 by population.
As the crow flies it lies about 27 km south-east of Murcia, the provincial capital. The nearest major city is Valencia, about 190 km away.
