Montoro is a municipality in Spain, in the province of Cordoba, in Andalusia. On 1 January 2025 it had 9,004 inhabitants according to the INE municipal register (padrón), over an area of about 581.5 km².
With about 15 inhabitants per km², it is a sparsely populated area of countryside, small settlements and wide open spaces, like much of inland Spain. Of the 25 municipalities in the province of Cordoba with at least 5,000 inhabitants, it is number 16 by population.
As the crow flies it lies about 41 km north-east of Cordoba, the provincial capital. The nearest major city is Malaga, about 155 km away.
