Catarroja, in the Valencian Community, is part of the province of Valencia. The municipality covers about 13.9 km² and had 30,604 inhabitants on 1 January 2025.
With about 2,202 inhabitants per km², it is one of the most densely populated areas in the country, part of a large metropolitan area. Of the 80 municipalities in the province of Valencia with at least 5,000 inhabitants, it is number 14 by population.
As the crow flies it lies about 4 km south-west of Valencia, the provincial capital.
