Canet de Mar is a municipality in Spain, in the province of Barcelona, in Catalonia. On 1 January 2025 it had 15,198 inhabitants according to the INE municipal register (padrón), over an area of about 5.8 km².
With about 2,620 inhabitants per km², it is one of the most densely populated areas in the country, part of a large metropolitan area. Of the 134 municipalities in the province of Barcelona with at least 5,000 inhabitants, it is number 68 by population.
As the crow flies it lies about 42 km north-east of Barcelona, the provincial capital. The nearest major city is Barcelona, about 40 km away.
