Balaguer is a municipality in Spain, in the province of Lleida, in Catalonia. On 1 January 2025 it had 17,729 inhabitants according to the INE municipal register (padrón), over an area of about 54.9 km².
Density, at about 323 inhabitants per km², is that of a populous urban area, with residential districts, services and businesses. Of the 16 municipalities in the province of Lleida with at least 5,000 inhabitants, it is number 3 by population.
