Arrecife, on the island of Lanzarote, is part of the province of Las Palmas. The municipality covers about 24.7 km² and had 70,811 inhabitants on 1 January 2025.
With about 2,867 inhabitants per km², it is one of the most densely populated areas in the country, part of a large metropolitan area. Of the 30 municipalities in the province of Las Palmas with at least 5,000 inhabitants, it is number 4 by population.
As the crow flies it lies about 210 km north-east of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the provincial capital.
