Altafulla is a municipality in Spain, in the province of Tarragona, in Catalonia. On 1 January 2025 it had 5,870 inhabitants according to the INE municipal register (padrón), over an area of about 7.0 km².
Density, at about 839 inhabitants per km², is that of a populous urban area, with residential districts, services and businesses. Of the 33 municipalities in the province of Tarragona with at least 5,000 inhabitants, it is number 26 by population.
As the crow flies it lies about 10 km east of Tarragona, the provincial capital. The nearest major city is Barcelona, about 70 km away.
