Alcantarilla is a municipality in Spain, in the province of Murcia, in the Region of Murcia. On 1 January 2025 it had 43,876 inhabitants according to the INE municipal register (padrón), over an area of about 15.0 km².
With about 2,925 inhabitants per km², it is one of the most densely populated areas in the country, part of a large metropolitan area. Of the 37 municipalities in the province of Murcia with at least 5,000 inhabitants, it is number 5 by population.
As the crow flies it lies about 12 km north-west of Murcia, the provincial capital. The nearest major city is Valencia, about 180 km away.
