The municipality of Alaró lies in the province of Balearic Islands, on the island of Mallorca: according to official INE figures for 1 January 2025 it is home to 6,121 people, over about 46.5 km².
With about 132 inhabitants per km², it combines a medium-sized town with residential districts, farmland and business areas. Of the 42 municipalities in the province of Balearic Islands with at least 5,000 inhabitants, it is number 38 by population.
As the crow flies it lies about 20 km north of Palma de Mallorca, the provincial capital.
